ZONJA JON – 300 YEARS OF TOGETHERNESS
A promotional film marking 300 years of the Arbanasi community in Zadar.
Leading experts in ethnology, linguistics and cultural anthropology, together with representatives of the local community, will discuss the vitality, preservation and transmission of Arbanasi heritage, as well as its place and significance within Croatian, European and the broader international cultural context.
Particular attention will be paid to the ways in which language, customs, music, memory and a sense of belonging endure, change and are passed on to new generations, as well as to the role of the community itself in safeguarding this living cultural heritage.
Moderated by: Dr Ivana Kurtović Budja.
Participants: Dina Bušić, musicologist; Dr Maximiljana Barančić, linguist and researcher of Arbanasi heritage; Dr Mario Katić, ethnologist and anthropologist, University of Zadar; Denis Bajlo and Boris Jelenković, Brotherhood of Our Lady of Loreto; Vladimir Miketa, cinematographer.
