In a recently captured village, an officer moves into an abandoned house and begins using the belongings of those who had to leave. Beside the house remains the former owners’ cow — a silent, persistent presence witnessing the appropriation of someone else’s space and everyday objects.

Pavo Marinković reduces war drama to a precise situation in which an animal becomes an unsettling witness to human conduct.
