THE 'FILM AND DISCUSSION' PROGRAM WAS HELD IN KNIN AND ZADAR

26.04.2018.

Afer we had visited the Centar za kulturu i informacije Maksimir with the screening of the film My Dream, My Right as a part of the programme Film and Discussion, we have moved the programme further and visited Knin and Zadar. In front of crowded primary schools Domovinske zahvalnosti in Knin and Šime Budinić in Zadar film My Dream, My Right was screened. It was created as a result of a film workshop in Zaatari, organized by NGOs Voices of the Children and Save the Children and which has provided a three-hour film-making experience to Syrian refugees in the Jordanian refugee camp Zaatari.

Their film My Dream, My Right is an omnibus of nine independently produced works that provide insight into how young people live in this refugee camp, under what living conditions they are growing up, and what big dreams do they have.

After the screening of film, there was a conversation between Jan Kapić, a spokesperson for UNHCR Croatia, organisation which through its activities helps (among other things) asylum seekers, refugees, returnees and stateless persons, Nuri Al Ahmed and Janko Gredelj from the Jesuit Refugee Service in Southeastern Europe and students to develop empathy for those different and accept as equal members of society.

The program was successfully implemented in co-operation with UNHCR Croatia and JRS - Refugee Refugees Service.

We invite you to support the humanitarian campaign of JRS - Jesuit Refugee Service, Jučer stranci, danas susjedi - Strangers Neighbors, with just a click on the link!
