Festival of Tolerance presents: Meeting of Styles @ Art Park

Festival of Tolerance presents: Meeting of Styles @ Art Park

24.05.2017.

A three day art event, from 26th until 28th of May introduces world-renowned street artists as a part of the 11th edition of Festival of Tolerance.

Meeting of Styles project is bringing to Zagreb well known artists who will, alongside Croatian artists such as Chez186, Bare and Lunar, paint walls at Zagreb's popular street art location Art Park

Artists involved in live painting are carefully chosen, not only because of their impressive art skills, but also because of their social engagement and messages of peace, happiness and mutual respect they are conveying to the community through their artwork.

During three days of program, alongside live painting performances, workshops for young artists and all interested will be held, as well as free lectures by renowned experts, including Rienke Enghardt, organizer and project initiator of Hope Box, and Manuel Gerullis, organizer of Meeting of Styles project.

Art Park will become a place of bonding, fun, learning and tolerance, followed by musical program as an intro into open air movie night. This long art weekend is the best way to connect multiculturalism, art and tolerance.

And on Saturday, May 27th at 9 PM, Art Park will become an open-air cinema with the screening of French documentary TOUR PARIS 13 / PARIS TOWER  13 by Thomas Lallier.

October 2013: for one month, Paris became the world capital of street art. Neither a museum nor a gallery, it was an apartment building bound for destruction that became home to the biggest collective exhibition ever imagined.

4500 m2 of street art, with more than 400 artworks spread over 10 floors. Over the course of six months, Mehdi Ben Cheikh, founder of the Galerie Itinerrance, invited more than 100 artists from around the world - from Brasil to USA, through Tunisia, Italy or England - artists came to take over every square meter of the "Tour Paris 13", secretly and without means. All together they were determined to exhibit their art to the widest audience.

Over the course of 30 days, the tower was made accessible for free to the public, becoming instantly a street art manifesto. People and medias from across the world rushed to the "Tour Paris 13", but, despite hours of queuing up, major media publications and 570 000 visitors online, nothing prevented the tower from its final - and artistic - destruction. Paris Tower 13 is an immersion in the process of art creation, an exclusive and final testimony of this adventure, narrated by the artists who made it happen, showing that when radicalism and artistic integrity are put at the service of an authentic and generous project, a popular success arises.
