SUBJECT: Lack of a memorial to mark the Holocaust in Croatian and Slovenia.
Adding open thematic discussions to the last years Festival of Tolerance program has shown itself to be highly successful; the concept of developing further communication and dialog, exchanging opinions and stances was very well received by the audience and so that part of the program continues this year as well.
Alongside 5 panel discussions and debates that will be held as part of the main festival program of FOT Ljubljana, this year we decided to go one step further and introduce an additional discussion in form of a video conference that will be held on February 26th 2016. simultaneously in Zagreb and Ljubljana.
Eminent participants, experts from social, cultural and political life, as well as high-ranking state officials will participate in a discussion " Lack of a memorial to mark the Holocaust in Croatian and Slovenia." The discussion will be streamed between Zagreb and Ljubljana so that participants from both sides can comment the situation and stance towards Holocaust in each country, the general attitude about facing and accepting the past and exchanging opinions on this very current problem.
The project is co-financed from the Europe for citizens fund - EACEA European Remembrance.
